Harmony Experience with SmartThings

It is not compatible with Harmony IR based remotes

It's compatible with Harmony hub‑based products

Once Harmony is connected with SmartThings, compatible lights, light switches, locks, sensors, shades, and thermostats on the SmartThings network will be displayed on the Harmony app and touchscreen remote.


Please be aware

Currently, Harmony Living Home products are unable to control cameras, moisture/water sensors and smoke/CO sensors connected to SmartThings.





Setup



Set up SmartThings
Set up and configure SmartThings using SmartThings Mobile on your iOS or Android device.

Connect Harmony and SmartThings
Once connected, you'll be able to set up and use Activities which include device connected to SmartThings.

Setting up a new remote

During the setup, Harmony will automatically scan your home network searching for connected SmartThings Hubs. Once found, you'll be prompted to sign into your SmartThings account to complete the setup process. If your SmartThings Hub is not found, ensure that it's connected to the same home Wi‑Fi network as your Harmony hub.

Add SmartThings using the Harmony mobile app

  1. Launch the Harmony mobile app and connect to your Harmony hub.
  2. Select MENU, then Harmony Setup > Add/Edit Devices & Activities > Devices.

  1. Select the ADD DEVICE at the bottom, followed by HOME CONTROL > SMARTTHINGS.
  2. To complete the process, you'll be prompted to sign into your SmartThings account.

If your SmartThings Hub is not found, ensure that it's connected to the same home Wi‑Fi network as your Harmony hub.

Add SmartThings using the MyHarmony desktop software

  1. Launch the MyHarmony desktop software and sign into your account.
  2. Select your Harmony product from the Remote Gallery.
  3. Select the Devices tab, then Add device.

  1. Enter manufacturer SmartThings followed by your SmartThings model number.
  2. Finally, select Add to complete the process.

How Harmony integrates with SmartThings

All Harmony hub‑based products

Harmony connects with the SmartThings servers, allowing you to incorporate SmartThings into your Harmony Activities. As additional devices are added to the SmartThings network, launch the Harmony mobile app and access MENU > Harmony Setup > Add/Edit Devices & Activities to sign into SmartThings and add the new device to your Harmony solution.

Harmony remotes without Harmony Hub

As Harmony and SmartThings communicate over your home Wi‑Fi network, Harmony products that do not come with a Wi‑Fi enabled Harmony Hub cannot integrate with SmartThings.
