Setup


Set up your PlayStation 4
Setup and configure your PlayStation 4, install any desired apps such as Netflix or Amazon.
Connect your PDP PlayStation 4 IR Receiver
Connect your PDP PlayStation 4 IR Receiver to your PlayStation 4 setup, if you're having trouble with this step, please see support.pdp.com for additional guidance.
Connect Harmony and PDP PlayStation 4 IR Receiver
Once connected, you'll be able to completely control your PlayStation 4 with any Harmony remote. Including powering on or off your PlayStation 4.

Add PDP PlayStation 4 IR Receiver to Harmony

  1. Launch the Harmony app and connect to your Harmony hub.
  2. Select MENU, then Harmony Setup > Add/Edit Devices & Activities > DEVICES.
  3. Select DEVICES and then press the ADD DEVICE button at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Select ENTERTAINMENT DEVICE and enter manufacturer, PDP and model number IR Receiver for PS4.
  1. Select the Devices tab on the left side of the screen.
  2. Select the Add device button.
  3. Enter the manufacturer PDP and model number IR Receiver for PS4.

Control

Harmony controls

  • Control icon lists commonly used PlayStation buttons.
  • Gestures allows you to control your Activity using simple swipe gestures over your phone screen. For example, swiping up/down will change your volume and left/right can rewind and fast-forward.

To use text or voice entry:

Harmony hub‑based products allow text and voice entry using the Harmony app.

  1. Launch your Play Game Activity using the Harmony app.
  2. Using the control menu, navigate your PS4 and bring up an on-screen keyboard. For example, navigate to the very top of the Netflix channel to display a keyboard on your television.
  3. Click the keyboard icon in the Harmony app to pull up a keyboard on your phone or tablet.
    • Use the keyboard to easily enter text. This is helpful for username and password entry on your PS4.
    • Or, click the microphone button within the Harmony app and your voice will be converted to text.

Netflix

Direction Pad Navigation will navigate the Netflix app.

Media Keys such as Play, Pause, Stop, FastForward and Rewind commands work. Netflix allows you to move a frame forward or backward using the direction left and right arrows.

Hulu

Direction Pad Navigation will navigate the Hulu app.

Media Keys such as Play, Pause, Stop, FastForward and Rewind commands work.

YouTube

Direction Pad Navigation will navigate the YouTube app.

Media Keys such as Play, Pause, Stop, FastForward and Rewind commands work. YouTube allows you to navigate between videos using the Skip Forward and Skip Backwards commands.

Amazon

Direction Pad Navigation will navigate the Amazon app.

Media Keys such as Play, Pause, Stop, FastForward and Rewind commands work. Amazon allows you to move a frame forward or backward using the direction left and right arrows.

Plex

Direction Pad Navigation will navigate the Plex app.

Media Keys such as Play, Pause, Stop, FastForward and Rewind commands work. Plex allows you to move a frame forward or backward using the direction left and right arrows.

The behavior of other channels may vary depending on its design.

Customize


Adjust the physical buttons on your remote

Harmony has already optimized the buttons on your remote; however you can further customize these buttons depending on your preference.

Add, remove, or rename commands on your remote's screen

Harmony displays commands specific to your Play Game Activity on your remote's screen. You can add, remove, or rename them.

Customize Harmony app buttons

You can view common PlayStation 4 commands on your phone or tablet screen. You can add, remove, or rearrange these commands.

Set your own swipe gestures

By default, swiping up or down on the gestures screen will change volume. There are 22 gestures in total, view and customize them from the app.
