Adjusting a device's inter-key delay

Inter-key delay is the amount of time Harmony waits between sending commands to a device. Too short a delay and your device might ignore some of the commands.

Tip

Increase the value to lengthen the time between Harmony sending commands (e.g. missing numbers when changing channels).

Decrease the value if your Harmony remote sends commands too slowly (e.g. the channel changes before receiving all numbers).

Using your remote

Harmony Ultimate, Ultimate Home, Ultimate One and Touch

  1. From your Harmony remote, press the MENU icon.
  2. Select SETTINGS > DEVICES > DELAY SETTINGS > CHANGE DELAYS.
  3. Select the device to be modified.
  4. Select INTER-KEY.
  5. Use the slider to adjust the inter-key delay.

Using the mobile app

  1. From the Harmony app, press MENU.
  2. Select HARMONY SETUP, ADD/EDIT DEVICES & ACTIVITIES, then DEVICES.
  3. Select the device to be modified.
  4. Select FIX DELAY.
  5. Use the slider to adjust the INTER-KEY DELAY.
  6. Press > in the top right to confirm the changes.

Using the desktop app

  1. Sign in using the MyHarmony desktop software.
  2. Select your remote from the gallery.
  3. Select the Devices tab on the left side of the screen.
  4. Select the device to be modified.
  5. Click on Change Device Settings.

  6. Select Device delay settings and click Next.
  7. Adjust the Inter-key delay value in milliseconds.

  8. Click on Finish and remember to sync your remote after making any changes.

Using the desktop app

  1. Sign into your account using the Harmony software and select your remote.
  2. Select DEVICES, followed by the deviec you'd like to adjust.
  3. Select FIX DELAY and use the slider to adjust the INTER-KEY DELAY.
  4. Select > on the top right to confirm your changes.
  5. Once complete, select the sync icon in the upper right corner of the settings menu to sync your remote.
